Types of shock

1. Cardiogenic  shock

Cardiogenic shock occurs when the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. This can be caused by a heart attack, or by an injury to the core.

2. Hypovolemic shock

Hypovolemic shock occurs when there is not enough blood in the circulatory system. This can be caused by blood loss from an injury or by dehydration from vomiting or diarrhea.

3. Septic shock

Septic shock occurs when an infection spreads through the bloodstream. This can be caused by a bacterial infection, or by a viral infection.

4. Anaphylactic shock

Anaphylactic shock is a severe allergic reaction that occurs when the body's immune system reacts to a foreign substance, such as a bee sting or a food allergy.

5. Neurotic shock

Neurotic shock is a type of psychological shock characterized by anxiety and other neurotic symptoms

6. Adrenal shock

Adrenal shock is a type of shock that results from insufficient blood flow to the adrenal glands.

7. Hemorrhagic shock 

Hemorrhagic shock is a type of shock that results from blood loss.

8. Metabolic shock

Metabolic shock is a type of shock that results from an imbalance in the body's metabolism.

9. Psychic shock

What is the treatment for a shock?

The shock treatment is to ensure that the person's airway is clear and that they are breathing. If they are not, then CPR should be started. The person should also be lying down with their feet slightly elevated.
